JOHN TOLOS DEAD AT 78

From the Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online...

John Tolos (left), shown here with brother Chris, best known for being the heel counterpart of Fred Blassie in one of pro wrestling's all-time greatest feuds, passed away last night at the age of 78.
---
The death was believed to have been from kidney failure.
---
JOHN and CHRIS TOLOS wrestled as a main event tag team for JIM CROCKETT PROMOTIONS during the mid-1960s.

JIM CORNETTE DOES IT AGAIN...

Lay down that fiction novel you're reading.
---
There's a new non-fiction book just out containing facts that defy someone making them up.
---
I'm speaking of
THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS AND JIM CORNETTE - 25TH ANNIVERSARY SCRAPBOOK
---
I read it in two days.
---
JIM CORNETTE, along with TIM ASH, have produced a doozie.
---
'The King of Polyester', whom many of us have met at shows and festivals, spills the entire can of beans involving his life in the sometimes bizarre world of professional wrestling.
---
And, thankfully, along this winding road, he encountered BOBBY EATON, DENNIS CONDREY, STAN LANE and RAY TRAYLOR, and from this cast of characters, THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS was spawned.
---
Thankfully, throughout the years, 'The Louisville Slugger' kept a thorough log of their bookings, their match finishes, their paydays and the house numbers.
---
It's all here, along with personal reflections (good and bad) with those fabulous 'Cornette-isms' (many of which would put Yogi Berra in the back seat).
---
Here's where you can get a copy of this literary gem...
---
I strongly suggest you start clicking that mouse now.

STAN, DENNIS, BOBBY and JIM today.

WBTV - CHARLOTTE reporter DAVID WHISENANT was at LMS covering the event, and interviewed the 16-time World Champion.

My thanks to DAVID WHISENANT for allowing me to share these photos.
